ADDRESSING VIOLENCE AS AN EPIDEMIC USING:
Evidence-Based. Data-Driven.
Our approach is an evidence-based health approach embedded within a violence prevention framework, geared toward two primary objectives:
1) The reduction in shooting incidents and gun related homicides; and
2) Changing community norms.
CIT seeks to educate people on how they view and address violence.
Our Work
Our team is made up of culturally competent, highly trained, violence interrupters and outreach workers, who participate and engage in street mediations, violence interruption, faith-based initiatives, public educational campaigns, Neighborhood Action Teams, community outreach, focus groups, hospital interventions, and post shooting responses. These efforts are to reverse the violence epidemic within the four targeted areas.
